How To Cultivate Christ-Like Character
TEXT: Phil. 2:5-13
INTRODUCTION
The only way we can affect our generation is to begin to show them practical love
- Now.
HAVING THE MIND OF CHRIST
- We may do all we can and do all we think but the greatest thing is doing it
according to Christ desire and pattern. Phil. 2:5
- The gospel is changing from what Christ says to what we think and how they
do it. Nothing kills like self. Phil. 3:13-21
- Humility has not lost the quality reward, it offers to those who follow Christ with
humble spirit. Phil. 3:8-12
ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN INDEED
- Christian is seen much in doing than in saying. Matt. 23:27-28
- Christ came to do. He came to show by doing. Matt. 23:5-12
- The quality of a tree is seen in the fruit while the beauty is seen on the leaves.
Leaves can be beautiful, if they don't produce, fruits do. John 15:1-8
- Let the life of Christ posses your ways and action. John 15:14-16
CHRISTLIKE OR SELFLIKE
- The greatest character that portrays Christ in us is our practical love to one
another and our care to the world. John 15:12-13
- Love is not what we say, it is what we do - we practice it so that others will see
and follow - it is very clear that Jesus came to show us love. John 13:13-21, 26-27
(Satan entered into him - He gave Satan open door to enter - Remember he was
not happy when Mary blessed Jesus.) John 12:3-8, Matt. 26:6
