Understanding Missions

TEXT: Matt. 24:14, Matt. 28:18-20, Gen. 2:7-9, 15, 19-20; Luke 10:1-2.

INTRODUCTION

Every Christian must know missions and what is all about and even get involved into it practically.

OBEDIENCE TO GOD'S CALLING MAKES A CHANGE IN YOU

• Adam was placed in the garden to dress and keep it. Gen. 2:15
• God sent Adam to name all the creatures He made. Gen. 2:19-20
• Chosen by God to fulfill a purpose. John 15:16
• Missions require total obedience. Isa 6:8
• Mission addiction for the kingdom sake. 1 Cor. 16:15-16
• God can use anyone to fulfil His purpose on earth and when he refuses he can use another person. 1 Cor. 1:24-31

COMMITMENT TO MISSIONS COST MUCH

• Mission support is not ordinary. 3 John 2-8
• For a witness unto all nations. Matt. 24:14
• Hazarding lives for the kingdom. Acts 15:25-26
• Preach to save them from sin. Mark 16:15-20
• Teaching to prepare and preserve them from the work. Matt. 28:18-20

MISSIONARIES SENDERS ARE SACRIFICIAL PEOPLE

• God is saying they cannot hear until someone goes to tell them. Rom. 10:13-15
• Sending them as a part of the mission. Luke 9:1-2
• Raise more labourers to help the worker. Luke 10:1-2
• It cost a lot to send missionaries. 1 Cor. 16:17-18
• Jesus and His disciples went at all cost and were supported. Luke 8:1-3

MISSIONARIES SUPPORTERS ARE GOD'S LOVERS

• Galatians and Corinthians church. 1 Cor. 16:1-3, James 5:1-3
• The shunamite woman. 2 Kings 4:8-17
• Mary Magdalene, Suzann, Joanna. Luke 8:1-3
• The house of Stephenas. 1 Cor. 16:15-16
• Phoebe. Rom. 16:1, Heb. 13:1-3

CONCLUSION

You can only prove that you understand missions by getting involved into it by giving what you have to support mission.
